Harp

“Every time you ignore the desires of your heart, you block the divinity of your future.”

~Sharon Lyn Shepard~

In 2002, a woman I had never met approached me in a health foods store, looked deeply into my eyes then told me I should be playing the harp. Little did she know that music had been wafting through my early morning waking hours but I had no idea what purpose it held for me. The following morning, this total stranger, as an angel in disguise, delivered a small lap harp to my front door.

When I lifted the harp from her hands, it was as if a part of me had returned home. With the harp nestled against my heart my fingers slid naturally over the strings striking a chord within me that opened my heart to a whole new world. Like a bard from ancient times, I knew how to play the moment my fingers touched the strings. From that point on, it’s been impossible to separate me from this instrument that has touched my heart and I no longer play it, the plays me.

Music is one of the most powerful ways to get in touch with the creative essence of our soul. Giving expression to our soul puts us in the state of joy and bliss. And each time we choose joy we create an opportunity for others to do the same. Wouldn’t it be fabulous to live that way all the time?

My passion is to inspire you to move through life with the natural rhythm of your heartbeat in harmony with the magic bubbling up from within you. Don’t panic, you don’t need a harp or a voice teacher. Your heart already knows how to express your unique essence and creative brilliance, be it through art, music, writing, nurturing your children or creating a new business. I invite you to go deep within and dip into the compassion of your heart to dissolve the fear that constricts you from becoming clear about who you are, what you’re here to contribute, and what you truly desire for yourself.

“Your heart knows what your mind does not.
You simply need to trust the wisdom of your heart,
for there is no place in your heart for fear.”
~Sharon Lyn Shepard~

Open your heart and follow its yearnings. Find your voice whether it’s through writing, art, music, or dancing. Whatever it is, be playful and have fun with it. This isn’t about perfection. It’s about lighting up from the inside out to enjoy everything about life and rejoice in every moment.

“It is with the innocence of a child
that we are creating heaven on earth.”
~Sharon Lyn Shepard~
