The Mind’s Role in our New Reality

Art by Eduardo Rodriguez Calzado

From a very young age we’ve been taught to “make a plan” for our lives. From a project or business standpoint that often entails outlines, proposals, and so much more. All before we even begin the project and call in our creativity.

How often I’ve followed the rules, made the plan, created the outline, and then. . . when I began the creative process it all blew up on my face. Pretty early on I realized I should be calling in my creative self BEFORE making the plan. Thus, things began to flow more easily.

Until recently when I began publishing my current manuscript. It’s been a HUGE learning curve for me!!!  Adhering to all the template and formatting rules Amazon requires before I push the “Go” button to upload my precious words.

I spent a full week in KDP University (Amazon’s school of publishing), reading text, watching videos and webinars, making notes, and literally overwhelming my brain. But once I got into the flow, I began enjoying the process of manuscript formatting.

Next I had to write and include all the “front” and “back” matter. The description, introduction, biography, back cover info, etc, all the stuff your readers want to know about you and the book.

Sitting down at the computer to write all this “stuff” was the biggest writers block I’ve ever experienced! So I left it and walked away from the computer. During the day, I grabbed whatever was at hand to write things down as the inspiration flowed throughout my daily activities. What I ended up with was a mishmash of e-files, yellow tablets with scribbled phrases, and sticky notes scattered everywhere!!

This morning I finally sat down and created an outline based on Amazon’s requirements. Now all my creative inspiration had a place to land!! The resulting experience was like a magnet effortlessly pulling all those snippets into Divine Order. Instead of writers block and overwhelm it became a joyful dance and fulfillment of my Soul’s passion.

When I finally closed the lid on my laptop with a sumptuous smile on my face I realized I am creating in a whole new way!!

Instead of engaging the mind and allowing it to strangle my creative flow with a linear plan or outline, I waited to invite it into the process AFTER I had drawn upon all the infinite potentials in my creative field. With all this creative material swirling within my energy field, I was able to call it into divine order with ease and grace.

As I was lingering in bed this morning I realized I no longer feel a separation between my spiritual self and my human mind. Reviewing the past two weeks since my introduction to publishing, I am experiencing a delightful integration of many aspects of myself. My spiritual self has brought forth abundant words of wisdom. The storyteller in me has written an engaging narrative. My creative self has fashioned lovely book covers. And what I call my Saturn self, is articulate, detail oriented, and an exemplary organizer pulling it all together. Although there are times the publishing process feels tedious my Fae aspect reminds me, this is my my playground and the JOY is always present.

Thus, the mind’s role in our new reality is finding a new balance with the wisdom of all  the other aspects of ourselves  There is a new found freedom. And JOY is at its core!!

Who are the Wisdom Keepers?

Time-of-the-Sixth-Sun---Dreaming-Ourselves-Awake---Compressed

There is a question that continues to cycle back around to me and until recently I was unable to resolve it. That question is: How does the Ancient Wisdom fit into humanity’s shift in consciousness?

I have recently watched, the movie series “Time of the Sixth Sun”, the feature movie along with all it’s 8 additional episodes. This movie has done an extraordinary job of interviewing Wisdom Keepers from all over the world from different cultures, with different perceptions, and different practices.

Over the years, I have had the benefit and honor of spending time with quite a few of the shaman and teachers in this movie, as well as others who remain nameless. I have interacted with their ceremonies, listened to their teachings, spent time on their land, and been blessed by them. Each one has added to my foundation of Wisdom.

And yet, after all these experiences, it has never felt like it was enough for me. So often I feel I have gone beyond the ancient teachings and practices because they are too limiting for me.

So Who are the Wisdom Keepers?
And what part are they playing in humanity’s shift in consciousness?
After watching this film I have come to this conclusion.

We are all Wisdom keepers.
It matters not what race, culture, or age we are. What matters is how conscious we are. What matters is that we remember who we truly are as the Divine.

I sense the Indigenous Tribal Elders have been passing down the wisdom and traditions of the Ancient Ones from the beginning of time. It has been their job to hold our foundation in place until humanity is ready to go beyond it. Through their strength, courage, and dedication they have managed to maintain their connection between earth and the Great Spirit. They recognize the importance and honor “all relations” which include all sentient beings including the animals, plants, and the earth herself. They honor the balance of the elements of fire, earth, air and water, knowing as humans we need these elements to survive. They honor each person, treat them with kindness, and support their growth and expansion. This is basic foundational Wisdom.

The ancient prophecies predict the shift in consciousness we are currently experiencing. Although this foundational wisdom is vitally important, wisdom is not static. We are constantly accumulating more wisdom. With each experience, our soul is distilling our experience into wisdom beyond the stories we, as humans, tell ourselves. Therefore, the wisdom we have to draw upon is constantly growing and expanding as individuals as well as a collective.

Once we become consciousness enough to remember Who we truly Are, we are operating from the foundational wisdom as well as our own personal wisdom. For are we not all unique sovereign beings in our own right?

I have met elders as well as children that I consider to be Wisdom Keepers. I have leaned from the many. Whereas, elders have the advantage of having a multitude of experiences to draw upon for their wisdom. Children carry the innocence of wisdom without having been indoctrinated into the limitations of society. As they say, “Out of the mouth of babes”.

As many of you have noticed our youthful generation is expressing their wisdom through new innovations to assist in cleaning up the mess humanity has made of our planet. For if humanity continues on its current path there will be nothing left for them. Survival has a way of waking people up to realize their own Divinity and their own Wisdom. I pray this awakening does not include more suffering.

I give thanks to all the Wisdom Keepers, the indigenous peoples, the elders, the children, and you and I, all of whom are in service to humanity and the earth, each in our own unique way.

Pushing the Delete Button

open heart by christina dehoff

The last few days, I’ve been cruising through my computer files to make room for new and exciting things. At first this felt like a daunting task sifting through years of information, data, photos, and journals. It felt kind of like being asked to clear out grandma’s attic or, worse yet, her basement. But it didn’t take me long to ascertain that I could simply back up a dumpster and toss it all.

By perusing a few files, I was utterly amazed at how far we’ve come over the past few years! After reading some of the articles I had stored, I realized I can just push the “delete all” button and start fresh.

Why? Because we can now Google anything we want to know without having to store it. We have everything at our fingertips, or voice command if you’ve befriend Siri or Alexa. Technology is moving so fast, apps that used to be primo are becoming outdated faster than I can remember how to use them.

And all those important spiritual teachings that brought me to where I am now are irrelevant. I’ll be forever grateful for those teachings that reminded me of “Who I AM”. But they no longer hold any relevance for me.

As a writer who journals nearly every day, it was beneficial to scan some of the words that allowed me to pat myself on the back for how far I’ve come. Indeed, we all need to do that from time to time. Whether you journal or not, you can certainly recall where you were 5 or 10 years ago vs. where you are today. How differently I interact with the world. And how much I allow to pass by because it no longer holds any value for me.

There is a file that remains and will continue to be expanded upon. That is my poetry file, “Wisdom of the Inner Voice”, where the words appear to be timeless because they express the wisdom of my soul. These are the words that continue to circle back around revealing layers of realization I was not aware of at the time they were originally written. For the soul is ageless. It does not know time, nor is it attached to a particular persona, or a particular lifetime. It is adept at distilling the wisdom of all our experiences to be carried through all time and space as we continue to expand our consciousness.

Now that I’ve created more space, it’s time to download an upgraded operating system on my computer. Just like my physical human body it’s been emptied of all the old files with lots of space for new and exiting ventures.

I am now living in the moment, trusting that everything I need to know is inside of me, and everything comes to me at the perfect time. There is no need to store anything anymore. No teachings, knowledge, or preplanning required! Instead, I’m allowing life to be one Grand Adventure!

Navigating Expanded Consciousness

930e779b965d1fbcf75f1d4e72b3a764

Although the results of expanding our consciousness are grand and illustrious, this transition is not as easy as one would like it to be. As many of us have been experiencing, these periods of transformation can range from disconcerting to challenging to downright horrid. We often feel like the caterpillar that dissolves into mush before it spreads its beautiful magnificent wings with abilities it never even dreamed possible.

Our entire solar system, including planet earth, is gravitating to a whole new position in the omniverse, surrounded by accelerated waves of transformation. As a result our consciousness is expanding into a whole new understanding of time and space, as documented by science. Although our Soul is effortlessly flowing with this grandness, our mind is floundering because it doesn’t recognize these new vibrations. In addition, so many of our established beliefs, memories, and habits have been wiped out of our old mindset to make space for the new. Our mind is wandering in this “clear space” looking for something to latch on to, but finding nothing.

It’s as if the train has switched tracks and the mind is searching for the old buildings but finding itself trackless in an expansive ocean. For that is where you are now, in the oceans of pure potentiality, far beyond the mind’s ability to comprehend. But never fear, your first class seat is oh so comfortable. It wraps itself around you. You’re safe and secure in the arms of your Soul. Why not sink back into it, close your eyes and allow your mind to switch tracks.

That can not happen if you continue searching for the scenery on the old track. Nor will it happen if you allow yourself to get caught in the dramas of mass consciousness as it too moves through these transformations, albeit not by conscious choice. Not only is the old scenery disappearing, but the old systems are no longer being supported by these new vibrations.  There are those who are working hard in attempts to maintain the old which is exacerbating the process and creating even more destruction. Engaging in these attempts to “save humanity” will only make this transition more difficult. It’s like attempting to hang onto your caterpillar legs while birthing new wings. They are not synonymous. It’s best accomplished by allowing these natural transitions to occur of their own accord.

I suggest you close your eyes for a wee bit, take a deep breath, lay your head back, and relax. Realize you have switched tracks and trust the first class ticket your Soul has provided. You are no longer traveling in the baggage compartment. You have everything you need right here within you. Settle in and allow your physical body to acclimate to the vibrational changes, allow your mind to drift.

When you reopen your eyes, your mind will naturally begin to enjoy the new scenery with exuberant glee, much like stepping off the train at a new destination while on vacation. At first, it may seem like a dream, but soon all of your aspects will be present and awake in this expanded consciousness with your innate joy lapping like gentle waves on the beach. Ride these waves of Joy because the more Joy you experience, the more quickly you’ll adjust to the new landscapes, the more grounded you will feel in these new vibrations. And once you do….new abilities will effortlessly awaken within you to begin creating anew, free of the mind’s old constructs.

The mind doesn’t know how to navigate these new energies, but your Soul does because it is accepting of all-that-is without any judgment or need to hold onto the old ways of being. It revels in this freedom and the expanded version of you. With every breath you take the mind is inviting and seducing you to do the same.

As consciousness expands, freedom abounds, and new potentials spontaneously  present themselves. Relax, allow, and savor the transitions for they are part of your eternal expansion. There will always be a new infinite You with a new frontier, for that is how the Soul thrives. Enjoy the adventure!!

Drama, the Food of the Mind

1296x728_7_Common_Behaviors_of_Total_Drama_Queen_and_How_to_Change_Them

Intense drama has become the food of the mind. It feeds upon every disaster, every problem, every dilemma. Without it, the mind feels empty and bereft, in fear of dying. Over the years, the mind has become so inundated with information and drama that stronger addictions of “need” have been established in order to survive. Without it, it fears death.

Just writing that sentence amped up my limbic system!
For those who don’t know, the limbic system is a complex system of nerves and networks in the brain associated with instinct and mood. It controls the basic emotions (fear, pleasure, anger) and drives hunger, sex, dominance, and care of offspring. Once triggered, the entire body goes on alert into its reptilian fight or flight response. The longer the limbic system remains in a state of anxiety, the more prone we are to react from violence and the more susceptible our body is to disease.

In recent years, we has become so accustomed to drama it has become the norm. When things calm down, the mind immediately goes in search of more drama, more explicit drama, more emotional drama. All to keep itself feeling alive.

The teachings of our spiritual path encourage us to simplify our lives, to remove ourselves from the drama of mainstream, and quiet the mind. We have learned that the answers reside in that still quiet space within us. But finding and maintaining that space requires a lot of changes in our lives. Changes like withdrawing from the mainstream media, less time spent on social media, withdrawing from family dramas, etc., etc.

But as soon as we withdraw and life quiets down, our mind becomes restless with its addiction for drama to feel alive. The mind isn’t comfortable in the temporary void we experience during this transition. There’s a pull to turn on the tv or fire up the the computer and see what’s going on in the world. Even our spiritual self has been tricked into “doing” things to save the world and other people. It pulls at our heart strings, drawing us into things that have no relevance to us. So we’re seduced back into the drama, albeit spiritual drama instead of the old style drama. But drama, none the less.

Withdrawing from drama requires a lot of practice, even more so if you are naturally empathic. It doesn’t happen overnight and there’s no need to beat ourselves up for failing to instantaneously shift into a new way of being. That just adds to the drama. It’s a moment by moment process and it requires self compassion. The first step is realizing the underlying cause. Once we do, we need persistent reminders to shift our perception from drama to peace within a new and different context. . . the context of our Inner Being that thrives in the stillness and silence.

There are many things we can do to shift our consciousness from drama to peace and contentment. One of my favorite it spending time in nature away from all the day to day distractions. I am blessed to live in the forest. Even a few minutes of forest gazing, as I call it, will shift my consciousness and soothe my limbic system. Listening to calming music or reading a book that transports me to another reality will also do the trick. A shower or soak in the tub…. bingo, an instant shift in consciousness. Playing with children will bring a smile to your limbic system. I’m sure you can think of many more to adapt quite easily into your daily routine.

With moment by moment practice, we’re able to reset our limbic system. We can finally relax into knowing we are safe. We are drawn into peace and contentment as the norm, rather than drama and superficial excitement. After awhile, we are no longer entertained by the drama. Instead we are entertained by the new passions that begin bubbling up from within us as creators of our own reality.

Attempting to change and create something new from within the old confines only strengthens the mind and the limbic system. Whereas creating from within the peace that passeth all understanding allows us to create a new reality for ourselves in which to thrive rather than diminish our health and vitality. We’re now creating from our divinity which has a constant flow of supportive energy rather than draining our energy via the imposed dramas of the world.

So, I ask you:
Where do you choose to place your attention?
The drama of the outer world, or your own innate inner peace.
It really is this simple to initiate your shift in consciousness to one of well-being and creative joy that builds upon itself rather than the “need” for external stimulus. Everything you need is within you. Herein lies the Joy of Life.

Words that have Gone Out of Vocabulary

letters
As a writer, one of the biggest changes during my process of “Ascension” has been my vocabulary. The new age community has created a whole new dictionary of words to attempt to describe this very natural and innate process that goes beyond words.

As a community that desires to share this experience, we do need to use words to express ourselves. The interesting thing I’ve noticed is how those words continue to evolve for me as I evolve. While I was recently editing some poetry I wrote a few years ago, I noticed a few particular words that no longer resonate with me.

I realize how conscious I have become of the energy of words. I have to sit with my words and “feel” into them to find resolution. I can not push the “publish” button until I am fully at peace with the energy of each of the words I have written.

As one would expect, the word “God” is one of the words I had to resolve within my self. Because it’s a word that evokes so many different emotions within people, I’ve hesitated to use it. I’ve played with lots of different substitutions, words such as Source, Universe, and….. wow, I can’t even remember all the others because they have slipped out of my vocabulary to the point I can not recall them.

What I finally realized is that the word itself is not as important as the clarity of the consciousness within me. I ask you to re-read that sentence and sit with it for a moment. The word itself is not as important as the clarity of the consciousness within me.

Words are neutral. It’s the energy we project with our words that affect other people. It’s also the energy with which we hear a word that affects us. Most humans are totally unconscious of their constant chatter. Thus all they are projecting is unconscious noise. There are others, like religion, the media or the new age community, who consciously use words to influence people.

Most of my writing is a personal dialogue between my human self and my GodSelf to gain clarity within me. I have finally settled upon a self-created word: GodSelf. Because I know I AM God in human form expressing as my unique Self. By using a self-created word I’m bypassing all the antiquated energies attached to the word God.

As I’ve moved through the process of my Embodied Enlightenment, there are many words that have gone out of my vocabulary because they no longer resonate with me.

Two of those words are pain and suffering. You won’t find me writing about pain or suffering because I don’t resonate with the need to suffer in order to learn, grow, or expand my consciousness. They were useful experiences in awakening me to the truth of who I now know my Self to be. But they are no longer part of my reality. I have discovered much easier ways to learn and there are no badges handed out at the pearly gates for those who suffer the most.

When I used to read posts on facebook about pain and suffering I often felt the energetic seduction pulling my human self into these old emotional dramas. Especially if I was in a void space after having let go of old programing or beliefs. The human likes to fill all that emptiness with drama and emotions in order to feel alive.

Indeed, I have compassion for pain and suffering. But compassion does not require me to join you in your suffering. Otherwise, there would be nothing but suffering in this world. Compassion is our ability to see the passion of love and joy and say, come this is the way home.

Therefore, words like compassion have been redefined. And the words pain and suffering have slipped out of my vocabulary, replaced with words like well-being and thriving.

Other words that have slipped out of my vocabulary are new age words used by specific groups. Indeed they are useful within the group. But I’ve never been a group person. I occasionally play in groups, but I have always followed my own inner compass.

Consequently, I expect my truth and vocabulary to continue to change as I continue to expand my consciousness. But instead of my vocabulary expanding, it has continued to simplify. I don’t need new age words to converse for they too are going out of vocabulary as fast as new ones are coming in. Instead, much like the rest of my life, my vocabulary continues to become more simple, wise, and heart-based. Therein I place my troth.

You May Think this is Crazy, but . . .

Surreal

We’ve all had surreal or magical experiences at one time or another, what other’s might call “strange” or “crazy”. They may have been something simple like thinking we know a person we’ve never met before. Or it could be something as expansive as a near-death experience. They may have happened in our childhood or anywhere along the way. They may appear in lucid dreams, while walking in the forest, during an accident, emotional trauma, while driving your car, or walking down the street.

The experience itself is not the utmost importance. How we choose to interact with the experience is what’s important. Whether we ignore it, or realize it as an important part of our soul’s journey.

Most of the time, we keep the craziest of the crazy experiences to ourselves, for fear of being judged by others. We think there is some protocol for reality by the collective. And to some degree that is true. However, per my experience, humanity’s consciousness is expanding and there are many who are hungry to hear these experiences to validate their own secreted stories to set them free.

All of these experiences are our Soul’s guideposts along our journey. As such, sharing them with others may validate or inspire them to be more open to acknowledge their own guideposts and create a new reality and lifestyle for themselves.

Indeed, there are some very raw and sacred experiences that we choose to savor and keep to ourselves so as not to sully them. Or, we may wait until just the right moment that spontaneously presents itself to share with a few bosom intimates, as per our inner guidance.

Most of the things we deem crazy aren’t nearly as crazy as they first appeared once we bring them out into the light of day and share them. The more we share, the more grounded and real these experiences become for us and for those around us. Until one day, the surreal becomes our reality and we no longer fear being judged because we stand in integrity with our Soul’s journey rather than the collective consciousness. And then, the stories begin to flow like honey for the Soul rather than crazy mind chatter.

When you decide to begin sharing your stories, and I hope you do because humanity needs to hear them in order to expand the consciousness, make wise Soul choices with whom and when to share. At first, you may feel like a fledging and share with a select few. Eventually, you will become embolden and sovereign enough to stand in your truth and share, without regard to what others may think or say.

I have been seeing a lot of friends inching their way toward sharing their treasured experiences. That excites me because it gives us a whole new foundation from which to play together. Reality as we know it is simply an agreement between enough people to call it real. When we give up our need for the approval of others, EVERYTHING becomes real to us. We become like children again, living in total wonderment open to ever-expanding possibilities.

Per my experience, I have one suggestion to make should you choose to share your stories. This is your story, your experience, and your Soul Wisdom.  It is no less or more important than anyone else’s for each of us has our own unique Soul path and wisdom to share. When you choose to share it, OWN IT. Stand in the truth of it.

Don’t sully it by beginning with, “You may think this is crazy, but. . .” That only sets the stage for judgment and doubt. Rather, speak it as your truth without concern for what others may think. How they receive it is up to them. But by setting them up for “crazy talk”, that’s exactly what it becomes, fearful crazy-making rather than your truth laced with pearls of wisdom.

I’ve been seeing some of the most sacred experiences being set up and shared as “crazy talk” and that saddens me. There is nothing crazy about Soul experiences. They are sacred and meant to be honored and shared when called upon. When you respect and honor your self, others will respond appropriately.

So, from my heart to yours, I implore you, become comfortable with embodying your surreal experiences. Claim your own sovereignty and inner knowing. Then, when it feels right, share them as the truth and wisdom of Who You Are
