How We Create Our Own Reality

It’s been a HOT week here in the Pacific Northwest. Temperatures have been soaring into the triple digits, 30 degrees above normal. Most of us don’t have Air-Conditioning because it’s not necessary in this temperate climate. I recall the days we used to joke that summer never began until after the 4th of July. This year summer has sprung with a vengeance, way hotter and way sooner than we have become accustomed. When I went to my closest in search of some cooler clothing, I realized I only have two summer dresses. Two! That should be a clue as to how often I have a call to wear such apparel.

As the media was continually broadcasting “Extreme temperatures for the NW”, and everyone on fb was posting high temperature screen shots while talking about how hot they are, my body immediately reacted by overheating even before the outdoor temperatures reached their zenith. I jumped into action totally focused on attempting to control everything I could do to cool down.

And then this quote from Abraham Hicks popped up with perfect timing:

“We are all Vibrational Beings. You’re like a receiving mechanism that when you set your tuner to the station, you’re going to hear what’s playing. Whatever you are focused upon is the way you set your tuner, and when you focus there for as little as 17 seconds, you activate that vibration within you. Once you activate a vibration within you, Law of Attraction begins responding to that vibration, and you’re off and running — whether it’s something wanted or unwanted.” ~Abraham Hicks~

This is what I call my “Point of Consciousness” and I was particularly reminded of it this week. I realized the more I read about the heat, the more overheated I became. At some point, it became apparent that I simply needed to shift my focus from being hot to something else.

Once I turned off fb and the news broadcasts (re-read that word “broad-cast, is that like casting a spell?) and made a few simple physical adjustments, I distracted myself by choosing a few good books to read.

Voila’!! Once I shifted my Point of Consciousness from panic about the weather, being overheated, and attempting to control my environment . . . to my simple well-being, I became much more comfortable and heat tolerant. My grumpiness dissolved and life resumed its well balanced rhythm once again, irrelevant of the weather.

This is true of everything in our lives. Be it the weather, body’s aches and pains, chaos of the world around us, or other people’s attitudes. Energy naturally seeks resolution, unless we are mucking about with it by trying to fix or control it, which only creates resistance to the natural flow of life. Energy goes where attention flows. By shifting my Point of Consciousness, I am creating that which I do want rather than what I do not want.

The outdoor temperatures have cooled down somewhat with the sweet scent of jasmine wafting in from my balcony. This morning I was able to quietly reflect on my reactions and the result of how I experienced the past few days.

I was once again reminded: THIS is how we create our own reality, victims to nothing!!! Not the weather, the government, social systems, media, relationships, nor other people. WE are sovereign beings, the CREATORS OF OUR OWN REALITY via our own Point of Consciousness.
